These photos say it all, really. Sunrise walks, bike rides and lazy afternoons in the sunshine. April has been full of glorious weather more akin to summer, and we are lucky to be in such a beautiful area to enjoy it.
The moon is a large luminous platinum coin in the early morning sky. Dawn breaks, over the dykes and hills where the sheep and lambs are waking, all shades of cherry and clementine. As if the colors are tumbling and spilling across the almost empty sky, tie-dying the few clouds as they go. The sheep pull quietly at the grass, the lambs peer at us curiously, Prune and Suzi look back. Dew settles on their noses as they sniff here and there.
Biking though the countryside, a warm wind through my hair, the fields brightly coloured with rapeseed, long grass swaying. Having dinner outside as the evening sunshine slides across the garden, blackbirds warbling, we are laughing. Until the first stars appear, and we start to shiver, just slightly.
But another week of sunshine and high pressure has been forecasted. So leaves on the trees will continue to grow, faster, filling the countryside with even more color and life.
