Spring has sprung supposedly, although I’m not so sure this part of the world has gotten the memo. Even if there are no blooms yet where you are, you can add a bit of flower power to your room with paper. Its time for an origami masterclass- introducing the Spring bouquet.
You will need:
- five pieces of square paper (for each flower)
- green pipe-cleaners
- glue or double-sided tape
- a vase (if you like)
First, take your piece of paper and fold it in half diagonal to diagonal so it forms a triangle. Open it back up.
Now fold each end in to the line you have made, so you form a kite shape.
Fold the bottom up to make another small triangle.
Leave the triangle down and fold the flaps in towards the center.
Fold the whole thing in half.
Now for the tricky bit…unfold one triangle corner and pop it into the top triangle (tuck it underneath).
Fold the opposite corner in towards the center.
Do the same with the corner on the other side.
Fold in half.
Now repeat for the other four petals.
Once you have made the five petals, you need to form the flower by placing some glue or a piece of double-sided tape (or tape folded on to itself) on each petal, and then stick them together.
There’s a flower done! You can add a pipe-cleaner for a stem if you want and then make some more so you’ve got a whole bouquet of Spring blooms.
Enjoy Spring, even if its snowing! xx
HI, I am really impressed! Very creative!
The black birds have finally started singing now…even though it is still ski pants weather!
yes even here i hear them sometimes!
You make it look simple but i am not sure about that… looks great! Looking forward to seeing and hearing some sign of spring in Europe.
i can teach you… its quite relaxing!
What a beauty. Looks like our Lilly all alone in the pot. Looks very simple but need to learn the folding doing along with you by my side. A real born teacher you are. Enjoy the Easter holidays. Happy Easter.
