I never really used to like Fall. Associated with the impending dreariness of long, dark nights, icy pavements and general lack of sunlight. It means rain, gales, clocks-going-back, and trick-or-treaters. But of late, I’ve kind of come to enjoy this season, and all it has to offer. Scotland seems to do Fall rather well.
Blackberries, copper coloured leaves, watery light falling on rushing rivers. The views of the countryside; acres of pine, burnished gold and burnt-out heather. Thanks to my meanderings, I’ve fallen for Fall.
I visited the Donmouth nature reserve for most of these photos (and the blackberries), its just five minutes from my flat. The epic views were from the top of Scolty hill near Banchory (a half hour drive West). There are many different routes to the top, I did the shortest but steepest one. As you can see, it was worth it!
Enjoy the rest of the season xx
All photos my own 🙂
